So, many of you may be used to this with your own children (Hollie?), but it was a first for me so it freaked me out a little. It was a very sunny morning and I think Addie really wanted to be outside and NOT inside today. For about an hour this morning, she kept telling me that she wanted to go outside and play with Elsie and push her stroller outside with Elsie. Elsie is Addie's very best friend and neighbor, she lives across the court in a different apartment building.
So Addie put on her shoes (she changed her shoes 2 different times), socks, coat, and got her baby in her stroller all ready to go. She looked at me all ready to go and said, "Mom, I want to go outside!" I said "It's too cold, we'll go out later." That usually will hold her off, but she was determined today.
A little while past and it got really quiet.....you know that kind of quiet, when you know that somethings not right? Addison was not in the house, not in the courtyard, I was yelling her name with no answer. Then my neighbor said that she saw her going to Elsie's house. My neighbor asked her if her Mom knew she was out here and Addie said , "no."
So there she was, at her best friends house with her stroller and her baby strapped inside. We live on the second floor so somehow she got her stroller up and down the stairs with no problems at all.
This all happened within 5 minutes, and nothing happened, but what if something would have happened to her? Ahhh-h! I guess I needed a little taste of what Hollie and Russ go through on a daily basis.

She escaped!

Ha Ha. It's lame isn't it? I hate that "I know something isn't right" feeling. Glad she was at Elsie's house though and not somewhere else.
Funny (and a little scary) story. I could picture the whole thing as if I were there! You'll have to install Addie locks on your door now. :)
I don't blame her for wanting to go outside, but don't blame you for wanting to go. Oh, Lis.... I can only imagine what you were feeling.
