Mom is dangerous!

On December 27th, 2007, we decided to take Addison and Connor sledding. It was their first time to a "real" sledding hill (Sugarhouse Park). Jon and I have not been sledding in years. I was way too excited to show Addison just how fun it would be. We had two small sleds. I put her on one and decided to sit behind her in another sled and hold on to her sled and we ventured to the TOP of the huge hill. All the time I was plotting my sledding plan, Jonathan kept saying, "why don't you start half way up the hill instead of the top?" (he said that at least 3 times). Too bad I didn't listen! When Addison and I got the the top of the hill, a lady looked at me and said, "wow, you're brave." I was thinking...."it's not that bad." I guess I didn't notice the sledding hill was almost ice. As we started down the hill, I quickly realized my mistake. We were totally out of control and going at least 47 Mph, Addison started to make her scared little grunts and scream as our sleds turned and flipped over and poor little Addison fell face first in the snow crying. After that, she was too scared to do anything. It would have been really fun if I would have listened to my husband. Eventually we coerced her into going really slow down the hill with Jonathan, but she was weepy and sad the whole time.

Connor on the other hand, had a great time. He fell into the snow many times and didn't even notice one time when his boot and sock was completely off with his bare foot dangling in the cold air. But, I didn't start him out on a black diamond sledding run first thing like I did with Addie.
